Federal Agency Comments

On several occasions in the past decade, the Public Notice Resource Center, often in conjunction with other like-minded organizations, has filed comments opposing federal agency proposals to move public notice from newspapers to government websites. Copies of the comments are posted below.

December 20, 2017
Comments filed with the Federal Communication Commission opposing the agency’s proposal to eliminate rules requiring broadcasters to publish a notice in a local newspaper when they file certain license applications with the Commission.

February 26, 2016
Comments filed with the Environmental Protection Agency opposing the agency’s proposal to move notices relating to the approval of permits under the Clean Air Act from newspapers to government websites.

Comments filed with the Department of Justice expressing concerns about its proposal to post forfeiture notices on a federal government website instead of newspapers.
